Kathrin de Silva (née Schmoll) has been working as an editor for international clients in Europe and around the world editing a thousand commercials, shorts, music videos, features, documentries, moodfilms and other formats for the last 25 years. Starting as an intern at Laszlo Kadar Film in Hamburg in 1997,  freelancing only 3 years later, travelling the world with her laptop from one editing location to another in South Africa, Argentinia, Brazil, Singapore, Japan, Australian, China and in most every European country. Besides editing in studios and editing facilities her laptop was opened in the botanical garden in Poland, on a cheese factory set in Switzerland, in cafes,  gyms, kinderzimmer, rooftops and most memorable in a production van in a ghost town in China with 35 degree celsius outside temperature and a monsoon rain going on for several hours.She is member of DWP Jury, since getting awarded for editing Mercedes Mika as best editing in 2003, producing a content series for Funke Media streamed on Samson smart TVs which was shot and edited by her while being on a short visit in Sri Lanka in 2019. 

Kathrin edits with Avid, Premiere and Davinci depending on the projects needs. Working for international clients worldwide such as Audi, BIFI, Coca Cola, Greenforce, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Opel, Mercedes, McDonalds, Ferrero, Wallis, Raiffeisen, League of Angels, Tesla and many more. 

During the last 2 years Kathrin has attended many remote agency and client approvals online with zoom or teams for fiverr, jura, mobiliar, lidl, greenforce, ferrero, wayfair, tesla, bertelsmann, bmw, kia and may more. Apart from editing classical shot tv commercials, she is having acces to stock footage, music and sound fx, she creates mood films for pitches or edits a stock footage film for your brand including music and sounds. Having cut around 100 stock footage videos recently for Studio Pink IO in Denmark. Kathrin was experimenting filming table tennis player and doing some short clips you can find on her youtube channel
